Entry #11 - Building Tristar's Panzer IV Ausf. C

The other "big" issue with Tristar's Panzer IV Ausf. C is the tracks.  The guide teeth are too large.  The ones included in the kit represent ones used on the Ausf. D and later versions.  The easiest way to correct this is go with Modelkasten's Pz. IV Early (38cm) tracks (SK-57).  They are alot of work but absolutely gorgeous when completed.

The set includes both versions of guide teeth so make sure you use the smaller one.  Also, make sure you don't confuse the outside and inside pins as they are tiny, tiny parts.

This is another time soaker along with the PE fenders.  I will never finish this tank.

The good news is that tracks fit perfectly with modifying the sprocket wheel.

As mentioned earlier, there are tiny, tiny parts so be careful when handling.  I did sacrifice a couple of pins and guide teeth to the Carpet Monster.  Sure hope Modelkasten included a few extras or this will get interesting.
