Entry #5 - Building Tristar's Panzer IV Ausf. C

Tristar was really nice to include the up-armored version of the Ausf. C but they did a terrible job of laying it out in the instructions.  Below is what the standard, normal front portion of how the hull looks like on a Ausf. C.  If you go with this version then DO NOT use part K-2 as outlined in step 2.

Below is part K-2.  Again, if you decide not to add the additional armor then you may want to address the incorrect weld at the front of the hull as outlined in journal entry 4.  But, if you decide to go with the armor then it will cover up this area.

Below is picture of a Ausf. C with the additional armor on the front hull.

I decided to go with the up-armored version because it just looked different and might draw attention. So, to accomplish this, besides part K-2, you will also need part K-1 as noted in step 6 (which the instructions note this is an option for late version Ausf. C).

Below is with both parts added and I think it looks kinda cool.  However, check your sources if this correct for your model.  I was unable to find any pictures to determine if the marking's on the Tristar instructions are the up-armored version or not.  Your best guess is mine.
