Bogeys part II

Finally finished the bogeys – this part of the project was alittle more time consuming than I thought it would be. Once you get the routine down it will move faster. I cheated somewhat – I glued a small piece of .010” plastic card on the underneath area where the return roller is located to cover the seam. It would take forever to sand in that small area. The rest of the seams were filled with super glue and sanded. The nice thing is that since this a tank the seams do not have to be perfect as weathering will cover up any imperfections.

The next thing I noticed in the reference photos was a couple of plates with bolt holes on the front side. There are several versions of bogeys and I am not 100% sure if this tank had this type but I liked the look of it. So I cut 12 plates from .010” plastic card, glued them on the bogey, sanded to fit and drilled a couple of holes.

The return track skids is another area were the Dragon instructions were incomplete. There are 4 bolts that on the areas were return skids touch the bogey (2 for the front and 2 on the back). Dragon even includes the bolt heads (part V33) but never mention them in the instructions. These are very tiny parts and you must take your time when working with them. Unbelievably I got all of them on without losing any – this has to be some type of record. The carpet monster went hungry for once.

Below is the completed Bogey. Now I can move on to step 2 – I am just blazing along.
