Best laid plans.....

Well, I didn’t meet my goal of finishing the DVIII this weekend.  With the wife and kid out of town on Saturday and Sunday, I thought I had plenty of time.  But no, I got a wild idea of catching up on some movies.  Went and saw several movies at the theatre and watched several DVDs (see my list to the left, that is the last 10 movies that I have watched).  My favorite was 28 Weeks Later.  I saw it late Saturday night and this was a pretty good move. I highly recommend it if you liked the first one, like zombie movies or like thriller movies instead of slasher movies.  Spiderman 3 is also not as bad as the critics claim it to be, especially on the IMAX screen.

Anyway, was able to get some work on the DVIII.  My heart is just not into completing this model.  There are too many stupid mistakes I am making that is basically turning this into 2 steps forward and 1 step back process.

I rigged the axle wing and put the decal on the bottom (it covers the holes pretty well).  I also put on the ring around the cowling.  After it was attached, I noticed that I placed it to far back.  Since it was glued on with epoxy it had to stay. I rigged the wing (see picture below for the contraption that use for rigging).  I also attached the guns and the feed / return belts to the fuselage.   Stupid me, when the glue was dried I tried adjusting the gun again and promptly snapped off the cooling jacket (nice). Pulled out the super glue and reattached it the best I could.  Like I said, this is draining my enthusiasm.

I will finish it the week (say it again and again).
