The bolts of step 9

A quick update. Step 9 has you put bolts and tools on the back of the upper hull. The instructions indicate that you need to use PE parts for the bolts. I was really not the mood to cut out 10 tiny parts and attempt to sand anyway the nubs. Plus the PE parts are too flat to look like real bolt heads, so I improvised.


I noticed on spruce V there were 12 tiny bolt heads along the edge – there are not used anywhere on this kit (I assume Dragon uses them on other kits as I have a ton of other spare parts). So cut off all 12 and used the 10 least mangled ones – they are actually pretty easy to remove with your handy dandy hobby knife. These parts are easier to glue on and allows time to position them correctly.


The strange thing is that the tools have locater nubs but there are no corresponding holes on the back end. So I sanded off the nubs and will have to place them free hand later.
