Steps 9 and 10 is putting the turret together along with all of details. Before you can jump into the fun, you need to do some clean up work. Dragon included a new turret with this kit with cast texturing that looks well done. But (there is always a but) Dragon has a seam line running around a port that needs to be removed (pictured below). Plus, when you glue the bottom part to the top part there is a seam running across the back. I had to fill the seam with super glue and sand. It does not have to be perfect due to the rough texture.
After sanding I used Mr. Surfacer to blend in the sanded areas with the texture. This is real easy – basically dip your brush in to Mr. Surfacer (either 500 or 1000) and paint on. The quickly dab it and paint it in the direction of the other texture. If the patch does quite look right you can repeat once the coat dries. If you were too ambitious and it sticks out too much then sand it until it matches.
I cleaned my brush with Mr. Color thinner and it worked well. If you don’t clean your brush, Mr. Surfacer will ruin the brush.
